What are good pets other than cats, dogs and fish?

What are good pets that are small, easy to handle and don't stink? They need to be cute, furry and huggable too =D

the place where i'm staying doesnt allow pets but i really want one so i guess dogs and cats are out of the picture XD no fish either.

any suggestions?|||FERRET

here's a bit about them.

They are a bit like dogs, in the way that you can walk them if you wish, and they are also like cats by how friendly they are and that they love nothing more than to play with you and then curl up on your lap. They also do not take up as much time as dogs and cats, you don't have to have them out all of the time, you can have them around the house during the day and in their cage at night, or they can just live outside 24/7

The best food you can give a ferret is dry ferret food from a pet shop, you can also give them dog food, but not on a long term basis as it does not have enough vitamins etc in it, you can also feed them on chicken and rice which they seem to enjoy, they can also have an occasional treat of sultanas.

You can either keep them inside the house with you giving them their own room or what ever, or you can keep them outside in a cage, but make sure it has enough space or them to play in.

They smell! so to combat this you can give them regular baths using ferret shampoos, also keep their living space clean to reduce the smell, the other thing is that you can get them neutered and have their glands removed.

Ferrets are very hyper animals, so make sure that they have plenty to play with, and if you can't spend most of the day with them then i would recommend getting more than one. You can also take them for walks on a lead just like you would a dog, although they will not walk very well they will soon get used to it.

When they are babies they will bite, so if you either flick their nose or squeeze their paw every time they bite you they will soon work out that it is bad for them to bite.

Um... i think that's it, hope i helped.

They are not loud (sometimes they rattle they're cages but can be conditioned not to, such has getting a small water gun and squirting them when they do), they are affectionate (not mean like people think they are), and usually dont smell (it is now common that ferrets are sold already with their stink gland removed). I have 2 ferrets, the first one was awesome and didnt smell, but when I got my second one her stink gland wasnt removed but isnt too bad, i keep them in my bathroom with a glade plug in in the wall and you cant smell them at all. You can but stuff to put in their water that makes their waste not smell, it is very effective. You can also buy ferret body spray (which i think is wierd cause ferrets dont smell, their waste does). With 2 ferrets I maybe spend 50 a month, which includes the stuff for their water, a 30 dollar bag of food ( its a big bag and lasts about a month), their bedding, and litter (yes, they are very easily and quickly litter box trained). and on a different note, my friend has a chinchilla and seems to love it, so keep that in mind too? good luck!|||Guinea pigs are great. They love to squeak, coo, and purr but are usually silent unless you are petting them or have treats for them. They love love love treats. They can also do tricks (I taught mine to jump through a hoop, but the hoop had to get wider and wider as he got fatter teehee). They are intelligent and social, easily cared for, and extremely affectionate. They don't smell if you clean their cage once a week (whereas rabbits are notorious for pee marking and ferrets are really really smelly). Plus unlike rabbits they won't run away, and unlike hamsters/gerbils/mice they won't bite or becomem escape artists. Unlike reptiles they don't need heaters, humidifiers, and special stuff. They make really sweet pets and are healthy. They live for 3-7 years. I have had many many guinea pigs over the years and adored every piggy one of them!|||Rabbit!!!! They are everything onyour list that you need if you want suggestion onwhat kind of rabbit for me 100% Rex rabbits are the best to get I have one and it is soooo easy to take care of you can also house train then so they are easy peezy to take care of!!!!

Hope this helps :) :) :)|||Rats. They are awesome. Can be litter trained and taught simple tricks. I had a rat that could "fetch" small items on command. They are incredibly social and friendly. I had one when I lived in an apartment. They only live about 2-3 years though. I always liked males myself, but they sometimes scent mark things as they run around the room. Females have a higher incidence of cancer in my experience.|||How about a rabbit!

They are very cute,

with their dark eyes and cotton tail.

They are small and only need a cage.

the bunnys stay in one place and dont always hop around cause there kinda fat.LOL

ya well get a rabbit

they're quiet . :)|||Scorpion. Believe it or not, Emperor Scorpions make pretty good pets.

1. They live on a $1 a week (buying crickets at petco)

2. They don't smell

3. They don't beg for a attention but are happy to receive it

4. Handle them often and they become docile

5. Don't make noise|||I would say a dwarf bunny they don't get know bigger then 3lbs and you can liter train them like a cat they are awsome i have one now and im not aloud to have pets either and they only stink if you don't clean their liter|||Fancy rats are Wonderful pets! They are surprisingly clean and do not stink at all if you clean their cage regularly ( about once a week) . They are as intelligent as dogs and easily trained. I absolutely LOVE rats as pets! They are so social and lovable.|||Well, it's not furry and cuddly and huggable, but leopard geckos are cute and a fun pet. They don't stink either and are super easy to care for.|||I think you should get a ferret. They act like a mix between dogs and cats. You can even take them on walks! I personally don't like rabbits. But I love ferrets.|||You may want to consider getting a parrot for a pet. A talking bird could make your home more enjoyable.|||a rabbit =)
